Prayer life LO

A digi LO done for Scrap Of Faith's Cyber Crop on Saturday night.

Some rambling thoughts about prayer that I also posted up on Scrap Of Faith:

"We had Phillip Jensen (dean of St Andrew's Anglican Cathedral, Sydney - brother of Peter Jensen - archbishop of Australia) give us a chat today on mission - he spoke a little about the balance we have to strike between praying and having our prayers shape contentment in our lives or the more charismatic way of claiming God's promises. Both have extremes and can both be heresies. You need to be content but also believe that God will answer prayers.

what is at stake is God's sovereignty. Do you believe God can answers prayers? Yes - but do you also think that God will also not answer prayers? Yes - he is God and can do anything he wants. I find that claiming prayers and demanding answers is telling God what to do - and in the light of Job - "who is this who darkens counsel with words without knowledge ?" (Job 38:2) I choose to not challenge God!"

Paper Beads

A new craft is in order I think!

I'm working on stacks of stuff at the moment (plus college and all that!) but I want to try this in the next two weeks or so:

Paper beads

Here is an awesome Flickr group to go with it:

Flickr group

Hmmmm - need to figure out how to blog Flickr sets without resorting to just adding links.

Went to my free class at the KiwiScraps Convention at the Mecure Hotel today. It was so awesome! :) Emily was so fabulously nice!

I got to meet a few BBers but not all of them! :( I met Vivian, Petrina (Trini) and Karen M. , Cassie (Thorney) as well as Rachel Axton from Scrapbooking Memories.

Such lovely people! It was so nice to meet online friends in real life! I missed out on whatever big dinner the BB girls were having! :( Next time!

I'll post my freestyling file folder in the morning - it needs some morning light to make it sparkle. Ha ha! :)

Shelly Scarf

On our ANZAC day off it's study, study, study!

Last night I started the Shelly Scarf from CrochetMe. It's coming up very cute and soft! :)

Winter jackets

After I finish my Vintage Cardigan CAL on Crochetville (need to get more green wool and then sew all the squares together) I want to make this:

I found a cute little yarn store right next to college and I'm in there during breaks patting all the pretty (and expensive!) wool. So pretty and soft!! :)

Quickie LO

I've got one more digi LO for my BB CJ and then this CJ is done! :) I've loved it being digital as there are no postage costs like normal CJs! :)

Here's the latest one I did tonight.

Since handing in my essay just on time last Monday I've been crafting away. I have really enjoyed this week staying up till 3am or so with Nathan just hanging about making things. He's not making things - he's playing Civilization! His holiday has been cut short as he has a sermon this Sunday that he has to prepare.

This is what I've been doing:

I made another wedding canvas. I've got two now - Love and Laugh. Next one will be Live.

I've made some odd sized booties - I found a pattern I like - this one - but I keep making them different sizes. I don't know how as I use the same hook and same yarn. I think I'll just keep making them and try and match some up later.

I made this pocket thing to hang next to the fridge to put all our bits and pieces in - mainly restaurant menus for when we want takeaway! :)

I made this quick little frame with some MME paper (love that paper!). Picked the frame up for free at a market - love free stuff.

And finally I used up some paper scraps to make this clipboard. I think it rocks! :)

That's all for now.

I have to concentrate on college stuff starting today. Next week we have one more week of college and the week after is our week of Mission - we are going to St Andrew's Cathedral in the city. I have to give a talk to a large group of women on 'Is the Bible reliable?' Eeeek! :)

BB Scrapbook Quilt

Rah rah rah!! I've done one out of nine squares!

These are Nathan's favourite photos at the moment and he wants them framed and put on the wall. They don't grab me all that much but I do like the shot of the frog on its own.

They were taken in January up on Mt Tambourine, QLD at the CMS SummerSchool.

Bootie magic

I tried the booties on one of the neighbours' baby and they don't fit right! :( I think I made them too tight around the top of the foot. I'll give them another go.

I might try:

Bootie 1
Bootie 2
Bootie 3
Bootie 4
Bootie 5
Bootie 6

Crocheting along

I wanted to make some booties for a neighbour who just had a little baby boy. I have a gazillion patterns all saved in my bookmarks but none of them look easy - so I made up my own pattern.

It looks *ok*. Actually they look very funny but I've made two pairs now and there's no going back. It's a fairly simple pattern but I don't think I'll post it here - I use all sorts of funny stitches that I just make up so it won't make any sense to any other crocheter!! :)

I need to find an easier and prettier way of making heels!! :)

Some digi LOs

More crafty goodness.

I'm involved in a quilt swap over at BB but it's got a twist - we are using lots of papery type techniques for things like image transferring.

Here's a stack of yo-yo's I've made (Nathan made 7 of them!) for my squares. I've got the image I want to transfer but I've got to use a laser printer to print it or it won't transfer very well on to the fabric.

It was my nephew's birthday on Friday and I made him this beanie. Pretty cute I reckon but still masculine. I loved this pattern from Crochetville - very easy! : )

The Easter break has made us go crazy with chilling out! I've watched two DVDs and scrapped a digi page and hubby has spent the last two days playing, Civilization . He loves it. :)

We watched the Passion last night - it shocks you and then makes you feel so grateful and undeserving all at the same time.

I wonder if part of our perfection in heaven will be to be able to perfectly understand the pain that Jesus went through when he died. I really hope not. :(

Lots of plans for this two week lecture free period (given up on calling it holidays!). A church history essay is due in the middle of it and lots of revision for some exams next term but also lots of time for some sewing, crocheting, scrapping and general crafting! :) :) :)

Stacks of things to be happy about at the moment.

College is still exceeding hard work but that's the way of the world (or Bible colleges!)

What I'm really happy about at the moment is that I've won a class to Emily Falconbridge at the Freestyle Downunder Conference here in Sydney in a few weeks. Yahooo!! She's an awesome scrapper. Completely not my style but a style I would love to learn! :)

Other than that I have nearly finished my ripple blanket. This is a baby blanket for some expecting friends.
Lots to do, lots to do! But enjoying it all the same!
